This Top Quality Maple Butcher Block can be used as a Counter Top, Kitchen Island Top or as a regular cutting board. Wood Welded and crafted from Solid Northern Hard Maple with Edge-Grain appearance and standard squared edges. This Butcher Block top is as beautiful as it is functional. While you enjoy the soft grain and subtle color variations of your top you also can use it as a true cutting surface. Butt Joint Lamination with the patented DuraKryl 102 Finish means the Maple Counter Top or Island Top will last years on end with little to no maintenance. This top brings together the warm texture and feel of solid wood and the durability and longevity of a solid surface. This Maple Block Top is NSF Certified and completely food safe.

It is not necessary to sand off this finish prior to using the top, as it is approved for food service use. The finish is formulated to repel most household solvents. The surface can simply be cleaned with a mild soap and warm water. Stains can be cleaned off with finger nail polish remover or bleach, neither of these two substances can hurt the finish. Although the finish is durable, it will scratch and using the surface as a cutting board will degrade the finish. The wonderful feature of butcher block is that a light sanding of the effected area and an application of Emmet's "Good Stuff" brings the block back to its original condition. Because the block is solid through and through you can rest assured that the nicks, dings and dents that life puts into the block can be repaired with simple techniques.

DURAKRYL 102 is an environmentally friendly, protective finish that is food safe and resistant to stains and most cleaning products and solvents.
